Hebrews 13:5: "Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'" We've all been taught that the love of money is the root of all evil. But when it comes to the sin of greed, it's easier said than done. No matter how much we have, it's hard not to just want a little bit more. Ultimately, it all comes down to valuing the provision of God over the possessions of man. Rising past greed means understanding that even if we lose everything in this life, we have eternal riches in Christ.
Write down one area where you need to do better with greed.

Faith-In-Action: Greed is a selfish or excessive desire for more than is needed or deserved, especially of money, wealth, food, or other possessions. Recognize that our brains are wired to overvalue what we don't have(almost instantly). This is true even when we no longer need the money, wealth, food, or other possessions.
On today be self-less( Ex. Give something away that you have more than enough of, let someone cut in front of you in the line or don't take an extra slice of cake). Denied Flesh Today! God has all Power and supplies our every need, Rise Past selfish things that we feel we must have, "Selah on that" (think about it)...

This week, we'll be transitioning into the idea of rising in it. This idea involves the difficult truth that more often than not, there are things that we can't change. Sometimes, there may not be a way out. But that doesn't mean that we can't soar. In fact, our darkest days can even strengthen our faith in God. It is in these moments that we learn to place all our hope in Christ.

Last week we talked about what it truly means to "rise past" the things we face. We talked about how we must look beyond our present troubles and our past hurts in order to grow spiritually. Now we must dive deeper into how we can actually practice this in our own lives. After all, letting go of our burdens is far easier said than done. So how, then, should we approach them?
