Isaiah 55:9: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." When we go through hard times in life, sometimes the most frustrating part is simply not knowing why. There is a virtue, however, in realizing that maybe there are some things we aren't meant to know. God already sees how everything will play out – past, present, and future. It's all part of His bigger picture. We just need to rise past our need to understand everything and trust in the goodness of the only one who does – God.

Faith-In-Action: What do I do when I don't understand? Think about whether it's important to understand this part of your life before you stop to figure it out. When it is important, work on it. When it's not essential, It's NOT necessary to fully understand every area of your life, sometimes you will only be able to get a general idea, but it is important to realize that God knows all the details of your life.
((Today encourage or pray with somebody who doesn't understand why some things are happing in there life.))

This week, we'll be transitioning into the idea of rising in it. This idea involves the difficult truth that more often than not, there are things that we can't change. Sometimes, there may not be a way out. But that doesn't mean that we can't soar. In fact, our darkest days can even strengthen our faith in God. It is in these moments that we learn to place all our hope in Christ.

Last week we talked about what it truly means to "rise past" the things we face. We talked about how we must look beyond our present troubles and our past hurts in order to grow spiritually. Now we must dive deeper into how we can actually practice this in our own lives. After all, letting go of our burdens is far easier said than done. So how, then, should we approach them?
