1 John 4:1: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." There is an abundance of charismatic preachers claiming to speak God's truth; yet many of them are wolves in sheep's clothing. So how do we know what is true? Above all else, we should test everything we hear according to the Word of God. It can be easy to drown in a sea of lies. But when are vigilant, comparing what we hear with what we know to be true, we can rise in the midst of deception.
