Galatians 1:10: "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." Peer pressure is often joked about, but its implications are dangerous. Even followers of Christ are sometimes guilty of compromising their beliefs to please the world. But Jesus calls us to rise above the broken morals of our unbelieving friends. We must stay true to His righteousness, even when everyone else hates us. When we stay rooted in His Word, God will help us to rise in the midst of peer pressure.

Faith-In-Action:
Today stand up for others when you see them being pressured. "Bystander intervention" (stepping in to help out when you see someone in trouble) can be an effective way to support others and send a message. If you don't feel comfortable directly confronting the person doing the pressuring, try distracting them or inviting the person being pressured to do something else.
