Matthew 16:24: "Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." Following Jesus brings joy, but He never promises that it will be easy. We often make the mistake of believing that once we put our faith in Christ, we can lock ourselves away and be safe forever. Sometimes, though, doing God's will requires taking risks. We may even have to make great sacrifices for what we believe. But when we rise above our comfort zones, God will give us the courage to thrive even in unfamiliar territory.
