James 1:19: "Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger." In this day and age, it can be hard to separate our feelings from factual evidence. Often, we are inclined to dismiss all arguments except the one that we are willing to believe. But close-minded arrogance is not the attitude that God calls us to have when it comes to society's most weighty issues. As Christians, we have to learn to judge all arguments with wisdom, patience, and consideration. When we rise above our preconceived opinions, we can more clearly see the absolute truth of God.

Faith-In-Action: Do you want to strengthen your mindset, do the hard work and rise above it? Because negativity breeds negativity and if you don't actively work on rising above it, you're going to be part of it. No growth happens there; no joy happens there. Analyze and look at what you have around you. It's about choosing where you want to place your time. It's about asking yourself why you're being triggered by certain situations. What's coming up for you and why do you care? What needs healing? And it's about being brutally honest with yourself and catching yourself when you start to project negatively. about yourself.
To rise above the negativity you need to be clear on what you want and how you want to show up in your life. Be clear on the abundance that you want in your life. Sometimes that's the clarity that we need to get this process started.
Identify what your triggers are. What are you being triggered by? What does it affect you? And why do you care?

This week, we'll be transitioning into the idea of rising in it. This idea involves the difficult truth that more often than not, there are things that we can't change. Sometimes, there may not be a way out. But that doesn't mean that we can't soar. In fact, our darkest days can even strengthen our faith in God. It is in these moments that we learn to place all our hope in Christ.

Last week we talked about what it truly means to "rise past" the things we face. We talked about how we must look beyond our present troubles and our past hurts in order to grow spiritually. Now we must dive deeper into how we can actually practice this in our own lives. After all, letting go of our burdens is far easier said than done. So how, then, should we approach them?
